he Prayer and Fasting Power. Learn Why!
This theme was inspired by the work of the Author Gordon Lindsay. Prayer & Fasting. It will be our subject next. Amen. That the Lord God enlighten us, and be blessed in the name of Jesus.
                That the grandeur of this issue, bring them enough understanding, knowledge, and wisdom. Amen. We can not fail to mention names like. Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Joshua, Samuel, David, Elijah, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Daniel, and others. Amen. These men were very blessed and used by God greatly. For interceded by thousands, and millions of people, certainly prayed and fasted for people and nations. They were very important for the fate of mankind. Moses was the greatest of all, was the one who saw the glory of God personally. To save his people from the punishment of the Lord, Moses fasted for 40 days and 40 nights until God repented of not fulfilling what he had promised. For people did everything opposite, not obeying the laws and commandments of God. Ex. 34: "27 And the LORD said unto Moses, Write thou these words: for after the tenor of these words I have made a covenant with thee and with Israel.28 And he was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights; neither ate bread nor drank water, and he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments. 29 When Moses came down from the mountain Sinai, bringing the hands the two tables of testimony, even when he came down from the mountain, Moses did not know that the skin of his face shone while he talked with him. 32 And afterward all the children of Israel, and he commanded them all that the Lord had spoken to him on Mount Sinai.
            The author says that the Bible describes three types of fasting. 1st fasting without food without water. This occurred with Moses. The supernatural fasting was the case with Moses, so that his face was transfigured, with glory of God. Going back a little. Lord speaks to Moses on Mount Sinai, and ask her to show her Ex glory. 33. "18 And he said, I pray thee, show me thy glory. 19 He said to him the Lord: I will make all my goodness before you, and will proclaim you My name Jehovah; and I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and have compassion on whom I have compassion. 20 And he said: You can not see My face, for no man can see my face and live. 21 And the LORD said, Behold a place by me; here, upon a rock: thou shalt stand. 22 And when My glory passes by, I will put you in a cleft of the rock and cover you with My hand until I have passed by. 23 Then when I take the hand, thou shalt see my back; but My face shall not be seen. "2 common Fasting. Fasting without food but drinking water, drinking water is not food: 3 Not to custard "desirable: said Daniel delicacy desirable. I have not eaten, no meat or wine came into my mouth. Dan. 10 "2 In those days I Daniel was mourning three full weeks. 3 no pleasant thing ate, no meat or wine came into my mouth, neither did I anoint myself at up to satisfy the three full weeks "What's important the person who fasts, spends a lot of time in prayer. Pray without ceasing: 1 Thess. 5: "17 Pray without ceasing. 18 In everything give thanks; because this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. "It is not necessary to audible prayer all the time; with time it becomes as natural as breathing. Just as there is right way to pray, to worship God, to exercise the gifts of the Spirit, there is a way to fast. If possible to do fast in secret.
           Fasting properly is so important that Jesus drew attention to this at the beginning of his ministry. Later, he would show his disciples the power of fasting. A faith that would move mountains, which expel demons Matt. 17 "18 And Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out boy, that since" that "time was cured. 19 Then the disciples came to Jesus, in particular, asked him: Why could not we cast him 20 He said to them, Because of your unbelief:? for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a mustard seed you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible. 21 [but this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.] When you fast not shown you sorrowful, do not be hypocrites. When thou Anoint your head, wash your face: Mat 6. "16 Moreover when ye fast, be not as the hypocrites mostreis;.
for they disfigure their faces, that men see that they are fasting. Verily I say unto who have received their reward. 17 But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face, 18 not to show men that you are fasting, but only to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you. "Do not fast for vanity to receive honor of the man, but the Lord "Jesus." Amen.
Do not do as he did publican. Luc. 18: "10 Two men went up into the temple to pray; a Pharisee, and the other publicano.11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publicano.12 I fast two times a week, I give tithes of all that ganho.13 And the publican, standing afar off, or even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner! 14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; For everyone who exalts himself shall be abased; but that shall humble himself shall be exalted. " When fasting is not for competition as do religious fanatics. Be humble, sincere, fast in support of next, the needy. If possible have someone else do it for you, and you for the next. mourn the Mr. Cry aloud, spare not. Do not expect to hear these words. Isa. 57.13ao19 & 58.1 to12: It says in Isa.57. "10 In your art wearied thee; But did not you say: There is no hope; did you think that life of thine hand; so do not enfraqueceste.11 But who have you been afraid or fear to lie, and not remember me or you importasses? Is it not because I kept silence, and this for a long time, and do not fear me? 12 I will declare thy righteousness; and as for your works, they will not benefit you. 13 When you cry, you rid the idols that you gathered; but the wind shall take them, a breath all away; But he who trusts in me shall possess the land, and shall inherit my holy mountain. 14 And tell will be appreciated: Make straight up, build up, prepare the way, take the stumbling blocks the way of my people. 15 For thus saith the high and lofty One who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: a high and holy place I dwell, and also with the contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite. 16 For I will not contend forever, neither will I be angry; because of me the spirit as well as the breath of life that I created. 17 For the iniquity of his covetousness. I was angry and hurt; I hid myself and was angry; but, rebelling, he followed the path of your coração.18 I have seen his ways, but I will heal him; also will guide you, and I will give you consolation to him and to the pranteiam.19 I create the fruit of the lips; Peace, peace to him that is far off and to him that is near, saith the Lord; and I will heal him. "
           Fasting is the strengthening of faith for those who wish to release to the sick, and sinners. Fasting is meant to the natural man, the spiritual. To strengthen the prayer, and confidence, to cast out demons and heal the sick. Establish a reason, a purpose for prayer and fasting. Do it always for the benefit of others. Ideally, someone do this for you, so you are not being selfish. Remember Jesus never did things for him, it's just you read the Bible. Things do not directed to God, were not met. Fasting should always be for the glory of God. In Zechariah, Zac. The sons of Judah fasted and wept not for God. They did this for 70 years. Zac. 7. "3 and to speak unto the priests that were in the house of the Lord of hosts, and the prophets: I weep in the fifth month, separating myself, as I have done for so many years? 4 Then the word of the LORD of hosts came to me, saying, 5 Speak unto all the people of the land, and the priests, saying, When ye fasted and mourned in the fifth and seventh month, even those seventy years, did the same to me that you fasted? "
  God speaks to Joshua, and fulfills the promises made to Moses Cheer up, be strong, be of good cheer. Js.1. [...} 2 Moses my servant is dead; stand up for now, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, unto the land which I give the children of Israel. 3 Every place that the sole of your foot on the foot, gave unto you, as I said unto Moses. 5 No one can resist you all the days of thy life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with thee; not fail thee, nor forsake thee. 6 Be strong and of good courage, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their fathers to give them. 7 Only be thou strong and very courageous, to observe to do according to all the law my servant Moses gave you; not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, so that you may prosper wherever you go. 8 shall not depart from your mouth about these laws, meditate on it day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein; for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and prosper. 9 Have not I commanded I? Be strong and of good courage; be not afraid, neither be dismayed; for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. "
  Joshua received the mission to lead his people to the promised land, where flowing with milk and honey. Be sure of one thing, these people were very close to God. How come? Feared, obeyed God, the laws commandments and statutes. Did not doubt the promises made to his people, and we do. You may even find that they did not pray, fasting, such men were complete. Joshua exhorts the people to observe the laws of the Lord. As the people are very naughty, he makes a new covenant with his people. Js. 24: 14ao33.
         Here's an example of loyalty, fidelity, honesty, righteousness and justice, love and fear of God: Jeremiah. It was also quite a prophet used by God. Thus saith the Move vanity while fasting. Jer. 10. 2 {...} Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; because the nations are dismayed at them, 3 For the customs of the people are vain; is cut from the forest one tree and raging with ax by the hands of the workman. 11 Thus shall ye say unto them, The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth shall perish from the earth and from under the heavens. 12 He hath made the earth by his power; He established the world by his wisdom, and his understanding stretched out the heavens. 13 When he utters his voice, there is a multitude of waters in the heavens, and He raises the ends of the earth vapors; he maketh lightnings for the rain, and its treasures brings out the wind. 14 Every man is stupid and without knowledge; your idol is ashamed every goldsmith; for his molten image is falsehood, and there is no breath. 15 They are vanity, a work of delusion; the time of their visitation they shall perish. 16 Not like these is the portion of Jacob; He is the former of all things, and Israel is the tribe of His inheritance. LORD of hosts is his name. "
           Hence glory to the Lord before the coming darkness. Do not break the covenant of Allah: never do as they did. God asks Jeremiah not to pray for that rebellious people, and cursed: they have not fulfilled the covenant they made with "God." Jer. 11. {...} 2 Hear the words of this covenant, and speak to the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem. 3 Say unto them, Thus saith the Lord, the God of Israel: Cursed is the man who does not hear the words of this covenant, 5 so that I confirm the oath I swore to your fathers to give them a land flowing with milk and honey , as it is this day. Then I answered and said: Amen, O Senhor.6 He told me, because the Lord: Proclaim all these words in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem, saying, Hear the words of this covenant, and do them. 7 For I earnestly protested unto your fathers in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt unto this day, rising early and protesting, saying, Obey My voice. 8 But they hearkened not, nor inclined their ear, but walked every one in the imagination of their evil heart; therefore I brought upon them all the words of this covenant which I commanded them to do, but did not. 11 Therefore thus saith the Lord: Behold, I will bring evil upon them that they can not escape; shall they call upon me, but I will not hear them. 14 And thou shalt not pray for this people, neither lift up for them cry or prayer why not hear them in the time that they cry to me because of their trouble.}
  Jeremiah had a tough mission to show and bring the truth to the children of Israel, who were rebels to extremes. But Jeremiah prayed and interceded constantly with God in behalf of his people. God through His prophets spoke to his people, the Israelites, and Jeremiah listened to the Lord, and conveyed to them all; there was much intercessory prayer but through Jeremiah. For he was chosen by God even before coming into the world, in the womb of his mother. See what it says in Jer. 13. "15 Hear, and give ear; be not proud, for the Lord has spoken. 16 Give glory to the Lord your God, before he cause darkness, and before your feet stumble upon the dark mountains; before, while you look for light, he turn it into thick darkness, and to reduce the deep darkness. 17 But if ye will not hear, my soul shall weep in secret places for your pride; and bitterly weep my eyes, and shall be dissolved in tears, because the Lord's flock is taken captive. 18 Say to the king and the queen mother, Humble yourselves, sit you down; for your headdresses have dropped the crown of your glory. "
          Intercession is an act of prayer: see what it says in vain intercedes for those people. Jer. 14. "10 Thus saith the LORD unto this people, Thus have they loved to wander, they have not refrained their feet, therefore the Lord will not accept them; he will now remember their iniquity, and visit their sins. 11 He said to me the Lord, Pray not for this people for their good. 12 When they fast, I will not hear their cry, and when they offer burnt offerings and sacrifices, I will not accept them; before I will consume them by the sword, and by famine and plague. "But outweighing an intersection, "God" turned back with his anger! So is "God": loving and forgiving. God told Jeremiah; who would not hear their cry, nor his fast in support of the people. David when he failed, committed two sins of death if they did not repent. He committed adultery and he killed the woman's husband with adulterava. He paid a high price for it. This is what happened: 1 Sam 11: 2,4,5-15-23. The punishment to David. 1 Sam. 12 1ao24: David prayed and fasted for seven days, still received the punishment of the Lord. The son he had with Bathsheba, died. But the most curious is as follows: I can not explain to them how the Lord God, after David's repentance, was forgiven and blessed his relationship with Bathsheba. From this union was born, Solomon. 2 Samuel. Sam. 12. {...} 8 and gave thee the house of thy lord, and women of thy lord into thy bosom; I gave you Israel and Judah's house. And if that were not enough, add you as much. 9 Why have you despised the word of the Lord, to do evil in his sight? Uriah the Hittite with the sword, and hast taken his wife to be thy wife; yes, and hast slain him with the sword of amonitas.10 Now therefore the sword shall never depart from your house, because thou hast despised me, and hast taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be thy wife. 11 Thus saith the Lord: I will raise in your own home up evil against thee, and I will take thy wives before thine eyes, and give them unto thy neighbor, and he shall lie with thy wives in the sight of this sun. 12 For thou didst it secretly; but I will do this thing before all Israel, and in the sunlight. 13 And David said to Nathan, I have sinned against the Lord. And Nathan said unto David, The LORD also hath put away thy sin; thou shalt not die. .... 16 David therefore besought God for the child, and fasted, and if collecting, passing lay all night upon the earth. 17 Then the elders of his house stood beside him, to get up from the earth; but he would not, and ate with them. 18 On the seventh day the child died; and the servants of David feared to tell him that the child had died; for they said, Behold, while the child was yet alive, we spake unto him, and he would not hearken unto our voice; How then will tell you that the child is dead? You can commit a folly. 19 But David saw that his servants were whispering together, and found that the child was dead; and he said to his servants, Is the child dead? And they said, He is dead. 20 Then David arose from the earth, washed, and anointed himself, and changed his apparel; and entered into the house of the Lord, loved it. Then came home and asked what to eat; and believed him, and he ate. 21 Then said his servants unto him, What is this you have done? the child alive and fasted wept; but when the child died and lifted you ate. 22 And he said, While the child was still alive, I fasted and wept, for I said, Who can tell whether God will be gracious to me, so that the child may live? ....
          See how God is loving and forgiving! As He does not save heartbreak and resentment or like us! Or not this is a great love! Any questions! If you still have, take now.  Prayer and fasting that saved more than 2 million lives in the desert. This statement was given second Bible study, by gabaritadas people for this. First God met Moses at the burning bush and gave him the task of removing the children of Israel from Egypt. Exodus. 3; 1ao10. God made a covenant with Moses."1 Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law, the priest of Midian; and led the flock to the backside of the desert and came to Horeb, the mountain of God. 2 appeared to him an angel of the Lord in a flame of fire from the midst of a bush. He looked, and behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed; 3 for what he said: Now I will turn aside and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt. 4 And when the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called him out of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses! And he said, Here I am. 5 And he said, Draw not nigh hither: takes the shoes of the feet; for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground. 6 And he said, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look at God.. 7 And the LORD said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows; 9 And now, behold, the cry of the children of Israel is come unto Me; and I have also seen the oppression wherewith the Egyptians oppress them. 10 Now therefore come, I will send thee unto Pharaoh, that carry forth from Egypt my people, the children of Israel. 11 And Moses said unto God, Who am I, that I go unto Pharaoh, and out of Egypt the children of Israel? 12 And he said, Certainly I will be with thee; and this shall be a sign that I have sent you: When you have brought from Egypt my people, serve God upon this mountain. 13 And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come to the children of Israel, and say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they ask me, What is his name? What shall I say to them? 14 And God said unto Moses, I AM WHO I AM. And he said, Thus shalt thou say to the children of Israel,. I AM has sent me to you "And Moses came to the people, and they agreed. But they gave breaches the enemy, if not for the dedication, love, persistence, perseverance of Moses with God. They would not have entered the promised land. God thus spoke to Moses in the Holy Hill in Ex. 19.3ao25 in summary: {...} 2 Having started from Rephidim, entered the wilderness of Sinai, they encamped; Israel therefore there encamped before the mount. 3 And Moses went up to God, and mount the Lord called him, saying, Thus shalt thou say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel: 4 Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagles' wings, and brought you to Me 5 Now therefore, if ye will obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be My own possession among all the peoples, for all the earth is mine.; 6 And you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel. 9 And the LORD said unto Moses, Lo, I come unto thee in a thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak with thee, and believe thee for ever. Moses told the words of the people unto the LORD. 10 And the LORD said unto Moses, Go unto the people, and sanctify them today and tomorrow; let them wash their clothes 11 and be ready against the third day; for the third day the Lord will come down in the sight of all the people upon mount Sinai. 12 And set bounds to the people round about, saying: Take heed that ye do not go up the mountain, or touch the term; whoever touches the mountain shall surely die. 14 And Moses came down from the mountain to the people, and sanctified the people; and they washed their clothes. 15 And he said unto the people, Be ready against the third day: Do not come near the woman. 16 On the third day in the morning, there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud upon the mount; and there was a very strong voice of the trumpet, so that all the people that was in the camp trembled. 18 In this entire Mount Sinai smoke, because the Lord descended upon it in fire; and the smoke thereof ascended as the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mount quaked greatly. 19 And the sound of a horn growing increasingly, Moses spake, and God answered him by a voice. 21 And the LORD said unto Moses, Go down, charge the people, lest they run through the limits to the Lord, to see, and many of them perish. 25 And Moses went down to the people, and told them that.}
          God gave Moses the Ten Commandments. Ex. 20: 1your 26. While Moses went up the mountain to write the commandments, and taking long, his people had done everything opposite. Began to worship other gods without the consent of Moses. They produced a golden calf and worshiped him, and Moses breaks the tablets of the testimony, and sends kill the idolaters. Ex. 32; 1ao29: And intercession for his people. Ex. 32: 29 to "29 For Moses had said, Consecrate yourselves today to the LORD; because every man upon his son, and against his brother; for the Lord to give you today a blessing. 30 The next day Moses said unto the people, Ye have sinned a great sin; now I will go up to the Lord; peradventure I shall make atonement for your sin. 31 And Moses took the Lord, and said, Oh! This people have sinned a great sin, and have made them gods of gold. 32 Now therefore forgive their sin; or if not, blot me out of thy book which thou hast written. 33 And the LORD said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book. 34 Now go, lead the people unto the place of which I told you; behold, my angel shall go before thee; But on the day of my visit, about them visit their sin. "Moses was the only human being in every land that had the privilege of being very close to" God "and see the glory of the Lord, even his back, because no being human can see God's face! I believe that only "Jesus Christ." And God spoke to Moses face to face, even not seeing God in the face. Moses asks God to show you His glory. Ex. 32; 1your 35: The Lord spoke to Moses; Ex. 33. "9 And when Moses went into the tabernacle, the cloudy pillar descended, and stood at the tent door; and the Lord spoke to Moses. 10 And all the people saw the cloudy pillar stand at the tabernacle door, and all the people, is raising worshiped, every man at the door of his tenda.11 And the LORD spake unto Moses face to face, as a man with your friend. And he turned again into the camp: but his servant, the young man Joshua the son of Nun, not out of the tabernacle. " Finally, Moses was very special to God. Moses bought brawl in the right direction with God in behalf of his people: rebellious and murmuring. Yes: they were too stubborn and disobedient; and Moses faced the wrath of "God" to his people to save. For "God" even offered to Moses, another nation, another less rebellious people, more obedient! But Moses remained firm in defense of his people, fasting. In prayer, in intercession. The forty days of fasting and prayer of Moses broke the forces of darkness, and moved the divine compassion. And saved her people to die in the desert. This did not happen because of the persistence, perseverance, by Moises cry. God had given to help these people. Man like Moses in the entire Bible, there was not, and never will be. "God" loved much to Moses because of his faithfulness, until today, no one knows where his body was buried. Prayer and fasting in the times of Judges. Before talk of Joshua, who served God all the days of his life, and was chosen to spend his people, to the other side of the Jordan River. The promised land. God speaks to Joshua and encourage him. Joshua. 1; 1your 9: Joshua, prepares to cross the Jordan his people. Js. 1, 10 ao18. Crosses the Jordan with his people and with the ark of the covenant, which was Joshua responsibility. Js.3.1ao17. For a better understanding of everything, also read the chapter. 4 ... In Joshua times his people did not suffer more persecution. For God was with Joshua in all his days. Judges. 2; 6, "when Joshua had let the people were to the children of Israel, every man to his inheritance to possess the land. 7 The people served the Lord all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders that outlived Joshua, who had seen all the great work of the Lord, which he had done for Israel. 8 He died, however, Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of Jehovah, at the age of a hundred and ten years; " Because there were judges in Israel! Why the children of Israel returned to make the same mistakes, sins, loving and worshiping other gods, but the true God. For this "God" put judges in Israel! To judge his people, direct them on track. But it was enough that judge dies, for them to return to make the same mistakes. These judges were people of prayer, intercession, fasting too. This was the sacrifice that had and still has for us today as well. Gideon; mighty man of valor, protected by God. An angel speaks with Gideon, and gives the mission to deliver Israel from the Midianites, and with 300 men, defeat the Midianites who were numerous. For you to understand this passage; you'll have to read the caps. 6:07 Judges. We had only Gideon! Israel also had Judge Deborah. But before, had Otinel, Ehud and others. See at a glance: Judges. Jz.3. {...} 9 And when the children of Israel cried unto the LORD, the LORD raised up a deliverer, who delivered them, even Othniel the son of Kenaz, the brother Caleb's younger. 10 came upon him the Spirit of the Lord, and he judged Israel; went out to war, and the Lord gave Chushanrishathaim king of Mesopotamia, against which prevailed your hand: 11 And the land had rest forty years; And Othniel the son of Kenaz died. ... When there was outcry, there was prayer, and God sent another judge to Israel, but it was enough to die this Judge or Judge, for all return to chaos. Disobedience ... 15 But when the children of Israel cried unto the LORD, the LORD raised up a deliverer, Ehud the son of Gera, a Benjamite, a man left-handed. And, through it, the children of Israel sent tribute to Eglon king of Moab. 28 And he said unto them, Follow me, because the LORD hath delivered into the hands of your enemies, the Moabites. And they went down after him, and took the fords of Jordan toward Moab, and suffered no man to pass over. 29 And they slew of Moab at that time about ten thousand men, all robust and valiant; and there escaped not. 30 So Moab was subdued that day under the hand of Israel; and the land had rest fourscore years. 31 After him was Shamgar the son of Anath, who killed six hundred men of the Philistines with an ox goad; he also delivered Israel.}
Deborah was a prophetess and judge in Israel, and a woman of prayer. It says in Judges. 4. "3 And the children of Israel cried to the Lord, for Jabin had nine hundred iron chariots, and for twenty years he mightily oppressed the children of Israel. 4 Now Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, she judged Israel at that time. 5 And she dwelt under the palm tree of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in mount Ephraim; and the children of Israel came up to her for judgment. "During the time that Judge Deborah was in command over Israel, the land had rest for 40 years. In Judges 5.1 to 32 talks more about Deborah and shows how much she was a woman of prayer. In Judges, we also have the story of Samson, who was chosen by God to judge, protect the people of Israel. Samson was very strong, almost invincible, but it was naughty, not obeying the Lord as it should. He was a womanizer, mixed with Philistine women, enemy of the people of "God." Samson fell in love with Delilah, a beautiful Philistine, but prostitute. She received a great reward of prune the enemy kings of Israel. Samson's strength was in his hair, and his head could ever spend razor; or cut their hair. Samson fell into the trap of Delilah, telling where it came from his strength. It was then that he was betrayed and lost his strength. But as he was a purpose of God to Israel, he asked God to restore his forces for a while in order to get revenge on the Philistines; it was so. God restored his strength, and he broke down the pillars that supported the palace, killing all the enemies of Israel; and so Israel had rest for long years again.  Samson prayed to "God," he interceded for his people. The story of Samson is in chapters 13-16 of Judges. God heard the request of Samson, and restored his strength is confirmed in Judges. 16. "17 And he told her all his heart, and said to him: Never come a razor upon my head, for I am a Nazarite to God from the womb of my mother; if I be shaven, go would me my strength, and I shall become weak, and be as another man. 18 And when Delilah saw that he had told her all his heart, she sent and called the lords of the Philistines, saying, Come up this once, for he has told me all his heart. And the lords of the Philistines came up to her, and brought money in their hands. 19 And she made him sleep upon her knees, and she called for a man to shave off the seven locks of his head. Then she began to afflict him, and his strength went from him. 20 And she said, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson! He awoke from his sleep and said, I will go out as at other times, and shake myself. For he did not know that the Lord had left him. 21 But the Philistines took him, put out his eyes, and brought him down to Gaza, and bound him with fetters of brass; and he did grind in the prison. 22 However the hair of his head, after he was shaven, began to grow again 23 And the lords of the Philistines assembled to offer a great sacrifice unto Dagon their god, and to rejoice; for they said, Our god hath delivered into our hands Samson our inimigo.24 When the people saw him, they praised their god, saying: Our god hath delivered into our hands our enemy, who destroyed our land and multiplied our dead. 25 And it came to pass, rejoicing his heart, said: Mandai come Samson, to play before us. They sent therefore come from Samson prison, who played before them; and made him stand between the columns. 26 Samson said to the lad that held him by the hand, Let me feel the pillars that sustains the house, that I may lean upon them. 27 Now the house was full of men and women; and were there all the lords of the Philistines, and on the roof about three thousand men and women, that beheld while Samson made sport. 28 And Samson called unto the LORD, and said, O Lord God! Remember me and strengthen me only this once, O God, to be at once avenged of the Philistines for my two eyes. 29 He held up because, Samson with the two middle pillars on which sustained him home, arrimando up one with his right hand, and the other with his left. 30 And Samson said, Let me die with the Philistines! He leaned with all his strength, and the house fell upon the lords, and upon all the people that were therein. So were more who killed to die than those who slew in his life. 31 went down his brothers and all his father's house and took him and brought him and buried him between Zorah and Eshtaol in the tomb of Manoah his father. He had judged Israel twenty years. So Samson completed the work, avenging themselves from the Philistines, and Israel settled down for over twenty years. "Samuel. Meet Samuel's story: Hannah was barren, could not have children, and suffered greatly for it, your husband Elkanah; had children with the other. Hannah prayed fervently to God, who came to be confused as a drunk. But God heard the prayer of Hannah, and answered their cry in prayer. Here's how it happened: so says in 1 Samuel. Sam.1. {...} 9 So Hannah rose after eating and drinking in Shiloh; Now Eli the priest sat upon a seat by a post of the temple of the Lord. 10 It is therefore in bitterness of soul, and prayed unto the Lord, and cried a lot, 11 and made a vow, saying: O Lord of Hosts! If indeed look on the affliction of thine handmaid, and remember me, and not forget your servant you, but you give to him a son, the Lord will give it all the days of his life, and his head no razor . 12 Continuing her to pray before the LORD, that Eli marked her mouth; 13Now Hannah spoke in her heart; only moved his lips, and was not heard his voice; therefore Eli thought she was drunk, ... 17 Then Eli answered, Go in peace; and the God of Israel grant thee thy petition that thou hast done it. 18 And she said, Let thine handmaid find grace in thy sight. So the woman went her way and ate, and was no more sad your face. 19 And they rose up early, and worshiped before the LORD, and returned, and came to their house to Ramah. Elkanah knew Hannah his wife, and the Lord remembered her. 20 So Hannah conceived and, in due course, had a son, and called his name Samuel; because, she said, I have asked the Lord. 21 went up that man Elkanah with all his house, to offer to the Lord the yearly sacrifice, and his vow. 22 But Hannah did not go up, for she said to her husband: When the child is weaned, then I will bring him, that he may appear before the LORD, and there abide for ever. 26 And she said, O my Lord! As surely as thy soul liveth, my lord, I am the woman that stood by thee here, praying to the Lord. 27 For this child I prayed, and the Lord answered the petition that I made it. 28 Therefore also I have lent him to the Lord; all the days to live, the Lord is delivered. And he worshiped the Lord. "
Ana fulfill its promise to "God"! Samuel after weaned was taken to Eli's house, and delivered him to the priest to serve God all his life. And so it happened. Hannah prayed and said, 1 Sam. 2. "1 And Hannah prayed, and said, My heart exults in the Lord; my horn is exalted in the Lord; my mouth is enlarged over my enemies, because I rejoice in thy salvation. 2 There is none holy as the Lord; there is none beside thee; there is no rock like our God. 3 Talk no more so very proudly, not out of your mouth arrogance; for the LORD is a God of knowledge, and by him actions are weighed. 4 The bows of the mighty are broken, and the weak are girded with strength. 5 Those who were full have hired out themselves for bread, and no longer have hunger those who were hungry; to the barren has borne seven children, and that has many children languishes. 6 The Lord is what takes life and gives; brings down to Sheol and raises up there. 7 The LORD makes poor and rich; slaughter and also exalts. 8 Arise from the dust the poor, the dunghill raises the needy, to make them sit with princes, to make them inherit the throne of glory; because the Lord are the pillars of the earth, they put it on the world. 9 He will keep the feet of his saints, and the wicked shall be silent in darkness; for no man shall prevail by force. 10 The adversaries of the LORD shall be broken to pieces; from the heavens thunder upon them. The Lord will judge the ends of the earth; will give strength to his king, and exalt the horn of his anointed. 11 And Elkanah went to Ramah to his house. The boy, however, was serving the Lord before Eli the priest. " This will be divided into parts so that everyone feels the interest in knowing more about fasting and prayer Researched and Written by José Carlos Ribeiro GDP member of MS January 15

Parte I                   Conhecendo  melhor a Bíblia, e a palavra de Deus.
